• BMW Detailing Clay Wash Mitt — Medium Grade — BMW's clay mitt enables you to clay the entire car in a fraction of the time of a traditional clay bar. Removes heavy oxidation, water stains, ferrous powder, light rust, brake dust, pollen, and bugs. Leaves a silky smooth paint finish. High-quality materials last 5–6x longer than a traditional clay bar. Formulated for medium to heavy paint contamination on light color paint.

Why Clay Before You Wax

Washing removes loose surface contamination. But embedded ferrous brake dust, industrial fallout, and bonded environmental deposits remain on the paint surface after washing — invisible to the eye but rough to the touch (run a clean finger across a washed panel; if it catches, the paint needs claying). Applying wax or sealant over contaminated paint traps the contamination under the protective layer and reduces bonding. The clay process mechanically lifts and removes these embedded particles, leaving a truly clean, smooth surface that wax and sealant bond to properly — and that reflects light uniformly rather than appearing dull or hazy.
