The BMW 0W-30 LL-01 FE TwinPower Turbo Full Synthetic Engine Oil (Part No. 83212365950 updated to 83215A2AF99 ) is BMW's fuel-efficient evolution of the standard LL-01 specification. Introduced in late 2016 as part of BMW's emissions reduction program, the 0W-30 FE (Fuel Economy) grade delivers all the protection of the LL-01 standard while offering improved cold-start fuel efficiency versus the traditional 5W-30. It is formulated specifically for BMW and MINI gasoline engines from 2007 to current production and is the specified oil for the S55 engine found in the F87 M2 Competition and M2.

LL-01 vs LL-01 FE — What's the Difference?

Both meet the BMW LL-01 standard. The FE (Fuel Economy) variant uses a lower 0W base viscosity for improved flow at cold temperatures — reducing friction during the critical cold-start phase and delivering a measurable improvement in fuel economy over extended service intervals.
